Kayleigh Williamson Becomes the First Person with Downs Syndrome to Run the Austin Half Marathon

On February 19th, hundreds of people ran in the Austin Half Marathon. One of those runners was Kayleigh Williamson, the first person with Downs Syndrome to complete the half marathon. Not only did Kayleigh finish the 13.1-mile run, but also she did it in just 6 hours 22 minutes and 57 seconds. Kayleigh ran the marathon with the support of about 2 dozen people and a golden doodle named Chuck. According to Kayleigh, running this marathon started out as just a dream and when she got to the finish line she was very proud of herself. Read the PEOPLE Magazine Spotlight on her here
