6-Year-Old Writes Letter Explaining Why We Need to Educate Others About Autism
Here at Realabilities we hope to educate children on the disabilities of their peers in order to break the stigma and foster friendship between students of all abilities. Six year old Lex Camilleri hopes for her school to do the same thing. Her now viral letter explains how she felt very sad when a classmate called her brother weird because he has autism. She wants her classmates to learn about all disabilities in school so that they can learn that everyone is different, but should all be treated the same. Her social action didn’t stop there. She plans to go to the school council to discuss implementing disability awareness in her school. If a six year old can recognize that disability awareness is necessary in our schools then so can teachers, principal and policy makers. Read the full article and see the actual letter here.
